George Hotz Potentially Taking Internship at Twitter
- j0hnyl 4y agoIf this materializes and Hotz isn't barred by his employment agreement from providing public commentary on his experience and what he works on, it would be pretty entertaining to watch.
- yigitkonur35 4y agoAs he resigned from his own company, comma, it will be interesting to see him at Tesla after this so called internship. It may be an interesting opportunity for Tesla’s on artificial intelligence team, to iterate to have better performance by working with someone experienced in camera based autonomous cars.
- gvb 4y agoTwitter, not Tesla.
- sometimeshuman 4y agoyou meant comma, not coma.
- yigitkonur35 4y agoyeah i mean the connection they will have at this internship and possible potential of it.
- sometimeshuman 4y agoAre the challenges at Twitter technical ones ? It seems they are all related to strategy and direction of the business which isn't the expertise Hotz is famous for. Or perhaps Hotz sincerely wants to be a lowly intern and this is his idea of a vacation. I can relate.
- sidibe 4y agoThere are going to be tons of technical challenges in the near future with all of the people leaving.
- metadat 4y agoTangential aside: I always thought his Twitter handle was "geohot" or something along these lines. I remember it from the early days of his rise to fame through iphone jailbreaking.
- Kukumber 4y agoThat's the proper mindset to have, i applaud him
- jshzglr 4y agoAnd I just read a comment in another twitter related post here on HN that Elon’s recent email will cause the good engineers to leave and the bad ones to stay. Bullocks. Some people enjoy challenges. Typically ones with outsized ability, naturally.
- Havoc 4y agoThey do seem vaguely on the same wavelength so that could work, at least for a short while.
- rkwasny 4y agoHe is going to rewrite twitter from scratch in 12 weeks :)
- cl0ckt0wer 4y agoA command line only twitter that runs entirely on the gpu would be interesting.
