You might like Godin’s “how I write” advice better, although he’s also maddeningly brief if you’re looking for a prosaic how-to manual. His is the opposite of Taleb’s as he thinks of writing like breathing and talking and his only question is what is the best thing he can write that day, not whether he will do it.
- MonkeyClub 4y agoCould you link us up to Godin’s piece? Couldn’t spot it with a couple of DDG/google searches.
- 1123581321 4y agoSorry, I wasn’t thinking of one particular essay. Searching for [Seth Godin writing advice] gives a few interviews along those lines, like this one: https://copyblogger.com/writer-files-seth-godin/ https://copyblogger.com/writer-files-seth-godin/
- MonkeyClub 4y agoThanks! I love that stuff, currently slowly going through Stephen King's "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft" (also a very good read).
- 1123581321 4y agoYou’re welcome! I wish I had more. Godin’s often good in q&a/panel recordings and I’m fairly sure those are where I picked up his approach over the last twenty years.
