Previous job a new bright young international software guy started. I walked him thru some of the stuff I made first. He nodded. Then we dove in to the legacy and "new legacy" code. He immediately looked at me and said, "Is this [nationality] code? This an [nationality] company!?" I explained to him that we are not allowed to speak like that in California. And yes.
- BugsJustFindMe 4y agoWhat are we not allowed to speak like in California? I don't see the connection between what the other person asked and your response.
- andirk 4y agoCalifornia secures our freedom of speech, but in business there are protected classes, one being "national origin" [0]. So you can call someone a donkeydick but not insult them based on their nationality. I wasn't bothered but wanted Boris to know about the law. - rjh29 4y agoI have a pretty good idea what nationality you meant, the 'an' in 'an [nationality]' removes a lot of entropy!
