Flash memory—something we use everyday now—relies on quantum tunnelling.
I’m not sure if you consider that “macro,” but it affects our lives everyday and it blew me away when I first learned that it was an everyday application of effectively teleportation.
- colordrops 4y agoAre any of these AI neural nets working on computer equipment that doesn't use any quantum effects at all? Don't transistors also use quantum effects? It's not quantum computation, but we wouldn't be able to build at this scale if not for taking advantage of these phenomena.
