It's a stylistic choice, I do it to avoid putting myself as the focus of a sentence. In the OP comment they probably want to emphasise the switching to brave, over the fact that it is them personally doing that switching. If you'd stated "Don't quite get ...", IMO it would have been no less understandable. Usage progresses.
