      Of public airports? Reminds me a lot of the post-9/11 hysteria. There was likewise a panic about photographing public infrastructure, particularly if the photographer was of a feared ethnicity.         Most definitely, if you fly drones close to an airport, you'll experience law enforcement

        I’ve flown on airport property a few times - even with explicit authorization, in writing, months in advance I was still questioned and briefly detained.

        My son and I go planespotting a lot but we'd never attempt to fly a drone near active runways. Article also mentions images of a military helicopter. Given the current situation it's understandable that the locals might be touchy about a Russian citizen doing this on their soil.
