Not only would we be next door to a military dictatorship, that military dictatorship would be responsible for smuggling billions of dollars in dangerous and illegal drugs.
It probably makes way more sense NOT to coup, so that the officials in government have nation-state plausible-deniability, preventing a proportionate military response from the USA.
- rurban 4y agoHa, who do you think would support the generals in this? Where do they get the weapons from? Who is interested in keeping such a controlled state? Who does it all over latin america?
- charlie0 4y agoForget a military response, we'd just have to actually do a good job of stopping drugs from coming into our country and slash their profits severely.
