Almost all requests in JMAP are to the same URL using an HTTP POST to submit a JSON body of “methods”.
So it's an adhoc reimplementation of SOAP using json instead of xml?
- masklinn 4y agoTunnelling everything through post is the normal way to do e.g. rpc over http. It’s not a soap thing, it’s also how xml-rpc, json-rpc, and graphql work. More generally it’s how you layer over http when you can’t necessarily guarantee respecting its requirements like purity, idempotence, or cacheability (or don’t want to bother), or when you fear hitting it’s practical implementation limits.
