Amazon opens the floodgates for marketing emails
- LinuxBender 4y agoI've been on the receiving end of this. If I give a product 1 star, I get both emails and physical mail from the seller offering money for 5 stars. Last I checked there was not a way to opt out of this. I will check again.
- dapf 4y agoExpect ratings, reviews, and customer interaction in general, to go down.
- baobabKoodaa 4y agoI wonder if Amazon has segregated these marketing emails cleanly or if this onslaught of spam will ruin deliverability for everyone using AWS to send email?
- vineyardmike 4y ago> ruin deliverability for everyone using AWS to send email? It’s more likely that everyone will be forced to keep this out of spam because sending Amazon.com primary mail to spam would be bad (and potentially sue-able).
- Version467 4y agoThis is horrible. I buy stuff on Amazon because I have an existing relation with them. I specifically do not want to establish new ones for every niche item I buy. If I’d want that, I’d buy my stuff from online shops that are tailored to a specific product category. It’s fascinating how much the shopping experience has deteriorated over the years.
