- grishka 4y agoWait, there are still places in the developed world where there are no contactless ATMs?
- Macha 4y agoWe dropped magstripes over a decade ago for chip and pin (though cards still ship with them for use overseas), and pretty much every payment terminal in stores have supported contactless for two years, but I haven't seen a contactless ATM here in Ireland - I assumed there was some liability reason they wanted chip and pin
- grishka 4y agoHere in Russia you still have to enter the PIN after you tap the card. You used to be able to tap with your phone too, back when Google Pay and Apple Pay worked.
- MBCook 4y agoHa. Honestly I’m having a blast at all the reactions from Europeans (and others) in this thread. The large local bank in my city doesn’t support it. Their ATMs only started using EMV as few years ago. I’ve seen contactless on national chain bank ATMs once or twice but I don’t think it worked for me for some reason.
- chadlavi 4y agoNo, but here in the US they're rare.
- jabroni_salad 4y agoI've only seen one contactless ATM in my life and it's at a wells fargo, which I refuse to do business with.
