From what I can gather from the twitter hashtags, the "report back on how it was spent" requirement effectively shamed the recipients of these TED grants into using it on almost entirely charitable ends. Not a bad thing I guess.
- sarahdrinkwater 4y agoSo half the group HAD to keep it quiet, half the group were able to share - but not everyone that got cash chose to do so. Reporting back was done only to TED and tbh I never heard from them again. Only constraint was no saving, no pension - you genuinely could do anything.
