- nordsieck 4y ago> SLS is made by Boeing SLS is at best partially made by Boeing. There are 5 prime contracts: 1. Core stage - Boeing 2. Upper stage (both ICPS and EUS) - Boeing 3. Upper stage engines - Aerojet Rocketdyne 4. Core stage engines - Aerojet Rocketdyne 5. Solid rocket boosters - Northrup Grumman NASA does the software, integration and operations. There's also Orion, which is being done by Lockheed Martin. It's not technically SLS, but the vast majority of SLSes will launch Orion, so it seems not unreasonable to lump it in.
- macinjosh 4y agoSame thing, they wouldn't exist if it weren't for the taxpayer's teat provided to them by the MIC.
- p_l 4y agoSame teat provides for SpaceX - they wouldn't exist without DoD funding (and not just for early days - Starlink was heavily financed by US military)
