- Mimmy 4y agoC++ at least has their flagship CppCon no?
- sparcpile 4y agoYes, C++ has CppCon, so that conference is making money for the organizers.
- boris 4y agoCppCon is organized by the Standard C++ Foundation (and a ton of volunteers), which is a non-profit organization. When I was involved quite a few years ago, I believe they were making a modest "profit" on the conference which I am pretty sure was all wiped out during COVID due to the hotel commitments they enter into.
- pjc50 4y agoThe C++ conference has .. problems. https://twitter.com/pati_gallardo/status/1560539777300037632 https://twitter.com/pati_gallardo/status/1560539777300037632
- IshKebab 4y agoThere are plenty of C++ conferences though.
- yreg 4y agoNot necessarily, companies sometimes organize a conference at break-even (or at a loss) with motivation to build a name, attract clients, for hiring, etc.
