Snap is giving up on its Pixy drone after just four months

  Why would they give up on it if it is selling well? I think it’s a cool idea and pretty much the only reason I would ever install their app.

    Indeed... I'd expect that something like this is the future. Although I definitely wonder if there's a future in creating a case that can just do this with your existing phone

    I think Snap is just experimenting with random different product concepts more to see what happens and learn about their customers rather than to build durable product lines. This drone was way outside their core market (social media advertising), and although it had some innovative features it's unlikely they could compete with DJI in the long run.

    Do we know that it’s selling well? Shipping times being long during the pandemic (or even without, for that matter) could easily have a lot more to do with supply chain issues than excessive demand.
