What Happened to Hyperloop?

- jamiegreen 4y agoI'm trying to get better at writing, so if anyone has any tips for improvement do let me know. Thanks!
- throwaways85989 4y agoIt was ever just a hype photo operation, to prevent good public transport from taking hold / being invested in?
- yostrovs 4y agoHyperloop seems to have been made to prevent California high speed rail. That the rail was "good" is difficult to make a case for.
- panick21_ 4y agoI would suggest you read this article: https://jalopnik.com/did-musk-propose-hyperloop-to-stop-california-high-spee-1849402460 https://jalopnik.com/did-musk-propose-hyperloop-to-stop-cali... Basically, one person made that accusation but its not really true.
- joezydeco 4y agoIt was a ruse designed to kill high-speed rail initiatives in California. https://twitter.com/parismarx/status/1167410460125097990 https://twitter.com/parismarx/status/1167410460125097990

- panick21_ 4y agoNot really but it just more fun every literally everything is some conspiracy. https://jalopnik.com/did-musk-propose-hyperloop-to-stop-california-high-spee-1849402460 https://jalopnik.com/did-musk-propose-hyperloop-to-stop-cali...
- SpikeDad 4y agoThe article wasn't convincing to me. It's basically he-said she-said and the reader is responsible to decide which is more realistic. He thinks Musk just blurted out the Hyperloop idea because that's Musk's style. Probably true but that in no way debunks his continued circus tour and world wide stomp to promote the preposterous idea.
- panick21_ 4y agoHSR was in the media, Musk thought about it and thought he had a better idea. So he wrote that down and released it. The idea that this is some galaxy brain political 3D chess so politicians wouldn't fund HSR is made up, its no where evident in the actual things Musk said. The burden of prove is on those that claim this was explicitly done to influence politicians, rather then being a thing he really thinks is a good idea.
