Just like art. At least that's what I feel when developing https://glicol.org https://glicol.org
I didn't have to develop a new computer music for a musicology phd and my scholarship was just for a humanity thesis, but I just wanted to do it.
- amelius 4y agoHow do most artists feel about others trying to tell them what to make? Should they welcome this input?
- chaosprint 4y agoFor art, no. But open source software does have the other side, so some inputs can be valuable and sometimes inspiring. I would compare it to industrial design.
- shaan7 4y agoWhoa Glicol is cool! I don't know anything about making music but I had fun tweaking the code on the homepage and listen to the music change :D
