Can the title be revised to something like "Harvard Professor on Quest for Possible Alien Tech that Crashed in the Pacific Ocean"? Current phrasing makes it seem like the professor crashed into the ocean.
- AlbertCory 4y agoThe actual article's title was "Harvard Professor Believes Alien Tech Could Have Crashed Into Pacific Ocean" which is more clear. Although to make it less woo-woo flying saucer-ish, I might have said: "Harvard Professor Believes Meteor That Crashed Into Ocean Was Alien Metal"
- TheOtherHobbes 4y agoIf it was real alien tech it could be anywhere doing anything by now. If we're not going to just assume aliens 'non-terrestrial' might be more accurate.
- AlbertCory 4y agoRight. I was just correcting the grammar, not his (wild) assumptions.
- dylan604 4y agoThat's how I understood the title.
- effingwewt 4y agoYea I was relieved it wasn't just me. I was confused when I started reading the article.
- tacker2000 4y agoI also thought that the professor crashed into the pacific because he was on a quest for alien tech.
- lawgimenez 4y agoGood to know the professor didn’t crashed into the ocean looking for alien tech.
- texasbigdata 4y ago+1. That prof must have been going super fast!!!!
- ghostbrainalpha 4y agoHe was killed by the government for looking into UFO's. Nothing will convince me this isn't true, and NO, I will not read the article before commenting.
- jihadjihad 4y agoYeah the dangling modifier is definitely making it hard not to think that the guy himself crashed...
- BirAdam 4y agowell, to be an asshole: The usage of “that” as opposed to “who” is the key there in English taught before the 2000s. Now of course, the usage of the pronoun who is dead, and that is used everywhere because people are objects in English now.
- etothepii 4y agoWho is but the form following the function of what, and what I am, is a man in a mask.
- dtgriscom 4y agoWouldn't that attract more readers?
- trinsic2 4y agoThe whole article seems weirdly worded. I the idea about using a magnetic just seems ridiculous. Maybe I am missing something... It sounds more like a coded message for someone then it does a real article, but maybe I have been watching to many science-fiction movies lately..
- rogerthis 4y agoAs I always look at the comments first, I've got confused with no information about if he died or not. Had to click the link.
- spaetzleesser 4y agoHow about leaving out the "Harvard"? If he worked at a less known institution they certainly wouldn't have named it in the title.
