Tesla to increase cost of FSD beta software beyond its $12,000 price tag
- throwaway2016a 4y agoI generally like my Tesla and I have the FSD beta program but given how often I need to manually take control of the car I don't see how they can justify $12,000+... even if it worked perfectly, it seems excessive for something that is just marginally more useful than adaptive cruise control on cheaper cars. > Musk did not provide guidance as to how much the price will increase, but he did say it is currently “ridiculously cheap.” It may indeed be cheap compared to the R&D cost but compared to how much people are willing to pay just to not have to turn the steering wheel? That I'm not sure of.
