So far as I've seen here in .uk they still have an inventory and most orders happen that way. (given them being a franchise this may not generalise beyond the locations I visit, of course)

All the locations I've been to in the UK in the past 3 years have the warming trays and don't keep (and so dispose of) fully-prepared inventory. At the same time they did this they changed to touch-screen ordering and panelled off the 'kitchen'. Wait times seem much longer to me, I assume they prioritise drive-through.
