- joezydeco 4y agoI've been to a few Blue Angels events and the sneak pass certainly gets the intended reaction (the rest of the crew is flying slowly in the field of vision and the fifth plane crosses the line perpendicular, from behind) Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrYmOEvDEUE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrYmOEvDEUE It's a neat thing but the idea of doing sub-mach flight over populated areas always stuck me as a little extreme. Those people sitting at home not at the show didn't ask for a military jet over their home at 500' and Mach 0.95.
- bkohlmann 4y agoUsually a lot lower than that - article mentions 50 feet. Which is insanely low. I got to 100 feet in training in a super hornet and was petrified.
