Association of the “Weekend Warrior” with All-Cause and Cause-Specific Mortality
- anovikov 4y agoAll discussions of impact of physical activity on life expectancy and/or disease invariably gets me thinking: maybe it's mostly the correlation that doesn't imply causation? Maybe people who are physically active are this way because they are healthier and thus more capable to exercise, feel less exhausted after it and get more results so are more likely to stick with it than a person who already has some health conditions, but the exercise itself has no or little impact? It's difficult to have a study here because hard to put together a control group. Because if you take a group of physically active people and ask half of them to stop exercise for a year, of course their health will be adversely impacted because they will probably eat the same but spend fewer calories.
