I feel like my IQ increased 20 points just looking at a page laid out like this.
- alberth 4y agoInformation hierarchy is extremely underrated. It’s surprisingly hard to do which is why these days so few do it, plus screen real estate on mobile adds additional challenges.
- mushufasa 4y agoif you viewed it on an 800 x 600 screen, it would look appropriate
- alberth 4y agoI think you mean, “if you viewed this on a screen 13+ inches” because nearly all displays now are way more than 800x600 resolution.
- kube-system 4y agoLooks great on my Apple Watch.
- mushufasa 4y agono I don't; this is hardcoded to a specific pixel width
- Dylan16807 4y agoCSS pixels get scaled on high resolution screens, though.
- ape4 4y agoDates like "03 Jan 01" knocked it back down a bit
- lucakiebel 4y agoYes. ISO-8601 all the things
- Rebelgecko 4y agoIf you regularly encounter humans that use different date formats, IMO that method is a great way to avoid confusion between dd/mm/yy and mm/dd/yy. ISO-8601 is great for computers since it has nice sorting properties, but IMO it's less great for human to human communication. For example if you're trying to set an appointment (or reading current news), it wastes a lot of time to specify the year for every message or article when it's already clear from context.
- ReactiveJelly 4y agoBut I can't tell if "03 Jan 01" is "yy mm dd" or "dd mm yy"
