Truth Social (https://www.truthsocial.com/ https://www.truthsocial.com/) | Engineering and Operations Roles | Sarasota, Florida USA or REMOTE (ONSITE preferred for some roles)
We are a social media company dedicated to delivering users an engaging and censorship-free experience. We believe users should be able to freely express themselves and engage with a rich diversity of viewpoints on a progressive, accessible platform. If you are interested in joining a company that is fast-paced, rapidly growing, and committed to free speech, please get in touch.
Our first product is Truth Social, a social media application which launched on 20 February to become #1 in the Apple App Store. We are expanding to other platforms (Web launched, Android native coming) and adding functionality, plus working on follow-on products (SVOD, Infrastructure). Our second product, TMTG+, is a Streaming Video on Demand (SVOD) service which provides content users want, without pushing a political agenda.
We're looking for a variety of roles in engineering for these products. Our current team is small and technically excellent, making extensive use of open source software and operating our own infrastructure to remain independent of third party control. We are particularly interested in hiring people from the established social media giants and large SAAS applications who were directly involved in creating software and infrastructure for scaling to hundreds of millions of users and beyond, and who want to do it again in an environment which values freedom of speech and expression.
We have current openings listed at https://careers.tmtgcorp.com/ https://careers.tmtgcorp.com/
- Aaronstotle 4y agoThis is probably the most surprising post I've seen on these threads
- nmz 4y agoReally? to me hn leans extremely conservative. There was even a twitter account called shithnsays that had, many a quote from the community.
- Majestic121 4y agoIf HN leans extremely conservative to you, you're living in an extremely liberal bubble
- nmz 4y agoThe Roe v Wade thread proves the republican leaning. Most of the developed world does not downright outlaw abortion. HN seems to be OK with rights being taken away so long as there is some reason even if the reason itself is not based on logic/reason. Ironic.
- Majestic121 4y agoMy experience among HN, and nerds in general is that it is common to find people who like to take a 'neutral' stance in a debate, verging on being the devil's advocate, and trying to find the good on both sides. I think it comes both from a love of rhetoric and from a point of view that being a contrarian can make you appear smarter, or more interesting. I know I've been guilty of such behavior. I did not follow the Roe vs Wade thread specifically, so my view may be out of touch, but from what you describe it seems to be closer to this kind of behavior rather than actual conservatism
- GermanUCLTear 4y agoNo visa sponsorships as expected
- tjpnz 4y agoEntirely on-brand.
- truthsocial 4y agoWe've actually done one O-1 sponsorship and wouldn't be against it in exceptional future cases, it's just not our default to offer. It's also much slower than we want for hiring right now. We probably would be able to take over existing H-1B for someone already in the US.
