How to Find a Federal Job
- lampshades 4y agoIf they didn't drug test I'd probably consider it at some point. Shame.
- bergenty 4y agoOn principle or in practice? In practice it’s very easy to just use some fake urine you purchased online and leave in your office bag. If for some reason there is an issue with it (there usually isn’t) they just make you take a second appointment based one that you can use someone’s clean urine for.
- kadoban 4y agoI'd be concerned that that's illegal in some manner. Is it not? Which, sure, not all laws are moral, or should be followed, but I still wouldn't want to seek out a job where keeping it is risking a prison sentence.
- bergenty 4y agoYes it is. You don’t risk a prison sentence but you could lose your job.
- lampshades 4y agoIn practice and I'm not going to use fake urine to try to get a job with the federal government. What a terrible idea.
- QuarterReptile 4y agoThis rings true from what I've heard. I recently sat in on a call where some recruiters from Los Alamos National Lab were walking through how applicants must make sure they speak separately to how they meet every single one of a long list of job requirements, in excruciating and dumbed down detail.
- potbelly83 4y agoAnd they wonder why they don’t get the best candidates.
- QuarterReptile 4y agoit might be relevant that they were giving this talk to nuclear submarine officers with master's degrees in various engineering fields... but yeah, it'd be nice if it were more sophisticated.
