The Maraschino Mogul (2018)
- whoisstan 4y agoI always loved the trucks outside of the factory. https://www.flickr.com/photos/whoisstan/52146306564/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/whoisstan/52146306564/in/datep...
- noisy_boy 4y agoSo many words but not one picture of a red bee.
- moistly 4y agoPerhaps a blue bee will satisfy? https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/blue-bee-feared-be-extinct-found-florida-180974957/ https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/blue-bee-feare...
- minsc_and_boo 4y agoSad that the idea of facing the punishment for growing marijuana pushed him to suicide. I wonder if he would have felt differently today, with changed attitudes over the past decade.
- MengerSponge 4y agoIt's not just the weed. The punishment for money laundering/tax evasion is pretty substantial too.
- nathancahill 4y agoAaron Swartz and open access sentiment over the past decade.
- WaitWaitWha 4y agoI do not think the bees turned red. The honey might, but not necessarily the bees. The article implies this through out. Found some pictures of red honey in comb. https://us.latinhoneyshop.com/blogs/news/the-mystery-of-red-brooklyn-honey-and-why-local-honey-is-not-always-good-for-you?utm_campaign=oth_r&utm_source=https://latinhoneyshop.com&utm_medium=wi_proxy&utm_content=en_GB&utm_term=b https://us.latinhoneyshop.com/blogs/news/the-mystery-of-red-...
- jjulius 4y agoYour link suggests that the bees appeared red as a result: >The bees were returning back to the hives with a bright red substance glowing through the membrance of their stomachs.
- WaitWaitWha 4y agoI guess I am over-pedantic, so yes, I partially stand corrected. Loosely they "turned red". Once the bees delivered their load from their honey stomach, were they still red?
- aqme28 4y agoThe title on HN reads (2010) but this article is from 2018.
- dusted 4y agoI cannot find out if I've hit the paywall or the article was just very short ? Last sentence reads > Though circumstances put Mondella and the bees on opposite sides of an issue, the beekeepers still speak admiringly of him, and express regret at his unhappy end.
