Fahrenheit is a pretty nice scale for weather temperatures for humans that produces nice round numbers. 0 is really fucking cold, 100 is really fucking hot, and both are somewhat rare but not impossible numbers. Mild weather is in the 70s, which is like getting a C on a grading scale.
- copperx 4y agoThis post is a great example of why you shouldn't comment without opening the link.
- pope_meat 4y agoIts pretty clear that the poster of the parent comment isn't sentient, they're just regurgitating information they've been fed, they don't understand the deeper meaning of the things they say. The poster may be an AI, but they are not "alive", this debate is silly.
- 10u152 4y ago1. This isn’t what the subject of the video is. At all. 2. We shouldn’t base scientific measurements off how things feel. Imagine this in any other context. Speed limits in what “feels fast”, weights in what feels heavy etc. it’s ridiculous.
- SxC97 4y agoMost people aren’t scientists but all scientists are people, ergo we should use a measurement system designed for humans and not for science… /s
- MiddleEndian 4y agoBut it's not changing your actual speed, just like Fahrenheit isn't changing your actual temperature. It would be like using miles-per-hour or km/hour instead of something way off like yards per minute.
- yellowapple 4y ago1. I think the comment is a joke. 2. Nobody said anything about using Fahrenheit as a scientific measurement.
- shreyshnaccount 4y ago1. Its a joke, 2. Not talking about scientific units and 3. Its actually a pretty good idea I'd kill for a feel based scale (also a joke)
