- dave4420 4y agoThatcher survived an actual attempt on her life. Quite how Major made it through to the 1997 election without being sacked by his party or forced into an earlier election, I will never know. Even Blair spent 6 of his 10 years as PM being undermined by his chancellor.
- dekhn 4y agoOK 32 years. But look at what Boris survived: Brexit, and COVID. Blair's scandals and policies were fairly tame compared to what just happened, right?
- orangesite 4y agoI think it's more of a statement on the general lack of accountability in political systems than a statement of any particular Eton-yob's moral dexterity!
