Advanced Data Structures (2017)
- kadoban 4y agoErik Demaine is a joy, and this class has _such_ cool content. I'd recommend this highly (I did this class a couple years back now). I particularly enjoyed link-cut trees, I doubt I'll ever use them in anger, but the way the concepts all fit together is _so_ cool. I especially liked the use of heavy-light decomposition in the analysis, and then just the way the splay trees are integrated into the implementation. Feels so satisfying and magical. Other highlights for me were the content on persistence, great stuff to know, and memory hierarchy, at least I think that was this class, getting into cache-oblivious models of computation (which, btw, are the opposite of what they sound like from the name).
