AWS DNS Issues?
Anyone seeing name resolution issues in AWS? Some internal monitors started failing about an hour ago with name resolution issues. Quad9 is returning SERVFAIL for status.aws.amazon.com
- emanuel502 4y agoWe also have issues with the AWS Route53 records resolving our CloudFront domain names. We get inconsistent results across devices and across the world
- crack-the-code 4y agoSeeing this in RDS endpoints too.
- gelatocar 4y agoYeah we're noticing issues too. Able to only intermittently load the status page and AWS console.
- revicon 4y agoWe’re seeing RDS dns hostname resolution errors as well. It’s been happening for an hour and a half now.
- revicon 4y agoMultiple people have tweeted to @awssupport but they haven’t acknowledged the outage yet.
- StephenSmith 4y agoSame here. AWS is blaming some third party without naming names?
- adambatkin 4y agoAWS has just posted the following to their health dashboard: > 7:21 PM PDT We are aware of intermediate DNS resolution issues for certain specific AWS names. This is due to an issue with third-party DNS provider outside AWS. DNS queries for domains hosted on Route 53 are operating without any issues at this time. We are actively working with the third-party DNS provider to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
- atymic 4y agoAlso seeing this, we're on AWS lambda behind cloudflare. Tried switching cloudflare off, but still seeing the same issues.

- rubiquity 4y agoSeeing this all across our EC2 fleet for anything on AWS. I think their service bulletin is underselling the severity because we are not using any third party providers. https://phd.aws.amazon.com/phd/home#/account/dashboard/open-issues?eventID=arn:aws:health:global::event/ROUTE53/AWS_ROUTE53_OPERATIONAL_ISSUE/AWS_ROUTE53_OPERATIONAL_ISSUE_KHDWU_1653618095&eventTab=details https://phd.aws.amazon.com/phd/home#/account/dashboard/open-...
