- quickthrower2 4y agoTechnically "15% interest. No surprises." is correct
- arcturus17 4y agoNo surprises in it being complete bullshit?
- braingenious 4y ago15% interest? No! Surprises!
- rchaud 4y agoThe most egregious case of false advertising since Homer's lawsuit against the "all you can eat" seafood restaurant.
- optimalsolver 4y agoFortunately, his lawyer had experience from the case against the makers of "The Neverending Story".
- zhoujianfu 4y ago"Do these sound like the actions of a man who had had ALL HE COULD EAT?!"
- ww520 4y agoNot surprisingly 15% of 0 is still 0.
- itsoktocry 4y agoAnd the YC board looked at this and funded it. That's unbelievable, isn't it?
- teraflop 4y agoNot unbelievable at all. I've pointed this out before, and I'll probably have cause to do so again, but Y Combinator has twice funded companies whose entire business model is smuggling: https://techcrunch.com/2014/08/13/backpack-connects-you-with-travelers-so-you-can-purchase-items-in-other-countries/ https://techcrunch.com/2014/08/13/backpack-connects-you-with... https://techcrunch.com/2016/01/28/shypmate-pays-travelers-to-bring-products-to-ghana-and-nigeria/ https://techcrunch.com/2016/01/28/shypmate-pays-travelers-to...
- AlexandrB 4y agoThey also funded a second life knock off that claims it will become the meta verse: https://www.playdreamworld.com https://www.playdreamworld.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w3fZMkE69s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w3fZMkE69s
- wsgeorge 4y ago> whose entire business model is smuggling That's interesting. I never thought of it that way. Solutions to the "Amazon doesn't deliver here" problem are quite popular in Ghana. Asking someone returning to get you something is quite common. I have friends who've created businesses around this.
