Facebook is censoring a vintage recipe for homemade baby formula
- dekhn 4y agoSome "homebrew" recipes for baby formula are dangerous. It's a highly regulated industry. Facebook is applying their rules for not allowing posts that are "dangerous" in terms of public health. Many things in the thread come from ignorance ("vegetable oils cause inflammation" is not an even remotely useful thing to say).
- gardenfelder 4y agowhy not useful?
- dekhn 4y agoBecause health statements should be both accurate, and actionable. And the statements shouldn't try to take limited facts and extrapolate them to general truths. It's very easy to fool naive people into not eating things that way, and make them scared of eating things, which are not actually harmful. If vegetable oil caused inflammation to the point where you shouldn't eat, you'd also have to stop eating vegetables.
