- dekhn 4y agoAlthough correct, this doesn't mean that the maintainers of the SRA necessarily did anything conspiratorial or wrong (legally or ethically). The article it cites does mention some interesting, long-term and ongoing issues associated with soft-deletion (IE, maintaining records, either online or offline, that have been "deleted", but hiding them from normal view) and the policies around storage of sequence data in general.
