Influencer marketing is balderdash and influencers aren't influential
- aww_dang 4y agoThe affiliate marketing model solves all of the problems listed. Yet many seem to think affiliate marketing is something related to MLMs. Some claim that is the old way of doing things?
- PaulHoule 4y agoAffiliate marketers are blamed for 'pissing in the pool' of the cognitive commons. Don't believe me? Try submitting a link to HN to a good site but put something in the title like "#4 is genius!" or "Here's one weird trick to..." and you will get plenty of negative comments and never an upvote.
- aww_dang 4y agoNot to mention the outright spam. Just the same, all of the performance metrics are built into a sales commission. Does an "influencer" have fake followers? Doesn't matter if they only earn commissions. They either sell or they don't. "Coffee is for closers"
