Global Chip Shortage’s Latest Worry: Too Few Chips for Chip-Making
- raxxorraxor 4y agoSince a few months already. We reprogrammed our reflow oven to solder chips off hardware that was classified as defect. Wasn't worth it for a unit price of $0.05, but very much so if it hits $5 or even $15+. The business was still very good despite Covid but now a backlog is building. At least the competition has the same problems I guess. Some others even bought old machines and electronics so they could get the chips that otherwise would have been thrown away.
