Microsoft somehow manage to maintain backwards compatibility for much longer than two years.
- threeseed 4y agoWindows only really works on x86 and is a mess of legacy and semi-deprecated APIs. Too much backwards compatibility is as bad as too little.

- hedora 4y agoI haven't had this experience at all. I've never had trouble finding reputable sources of windows software online, nor have I used the Microsoft store. (Windows user on and off from win 3.1 to 8)
- 1123581321 4y agoThat is different from whether an average user would find a random piece of software trustworthy. I also have used Windows for decades and know where to look and how to tell if something is trustworthy. App stores are about expanding willingness to download and try software far beyond people like you and me.
