OK then. So should a judge be able to tell his spouse what to do? This idea that Thomas should recuse himself because of his wife's political activity raises some interesting questions. Like does marrying a judge de-facto remove political rights from their spouse, or what happens in a Kellyanne Conway/George Conway situation, where the spouses have opposite views. Could one spouse weaponize the relationship to tip the balance in some important case?
- orwin 5y agoI don't know how US courts work, but can't he recuse himself only on the subjects his wife work on? It's like standard procedure in my country.
