Fido Alliance says it has finally killed the password
- raxxorrax 5y agoFido does good work but I think this will fail because it basically means users need an internet passport. The negatives are obvious and I don't think security theatre will be able to walk around the issue. USB keys are pretty established in my opinion. Of course a mass of users won't care about their privacy and being uniquely identifiable, but I still doubt we will see significant adoption. Fully hiding the additional dangers of exposure of private information isn't helpful to their cause in my opinion. > Time will tell if enterprises are willing to trust in Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, and the rest of Big Tech Enterprises trust these orgs too much already in my opinion. I used auth providers from big tech in some contexts. But that will never extend to any private use case.
