One thing I wonder about: I have Xfinity internet at home. I set my phone up to auto login to the wifi hotspots Xfinity runs on their routers. How does my phone know an access point with an SSID of Xfinitywifi is trusted before sending it my wifi password?
- hsbauauvhabzb 5y agoI’m not an expert on wifi, but I believe wpa2/3 is a handshake process where the server sends a challenge the client must solve with their password cryptographically. If the server challenge fails, the client doesn’t proceed with the handshake.
