DuckDuckGo, the free speech search engine that never was
- raxxorrax 5y agoDDG was never a "right wing search engine". I think it is good that it got feedback. Propaganda is a two way street. Either you ban it all or you let people decide themselves. Access to more information will overall only lessen the effect of propaganda. While the conclusion might be technically correct, this is still an atrocious article. I hope Google will take the advertising money of Vox for that though.
- marius_k 5y agoFor me it is desirable to shut up someone yelling in my face so I could listen quality information. Down-ranking the sites should not be considered as censorship you can still find your BS if you scroll down enough. Down-ranking is a way to improve search quality. Maybe DDG this way violates the absolute freedom of speech but at least it is fighting for my freedom to hear and listen.
