I just like it because it's smaller than the other iPhones.
- Turing_Machine 5y agoYeah, I want my phone to be a phone, not a low-end tablet. I've got an iPad for that. Any phone that's too big to fit in my smallest shirt pocket is too big for me. Obviously, mileage varies for other people.
- Tagbert 5y agoI have an iPhone Mini and am sad that it is expected to be discontinued. All the Max phone bros are like “see. No one wants a tiny phone.” I’d be curious to see the actual sales numbers.
- 1123581321 5y agoThe 12 and 13 Minis have been estimated around 5% for the last couple years. That's about a tenth of the regular iPhones they are selling. Pro/Max models split the rest. I don't own one but I hope they keep selling it because it seems like a great option for the people who buy it. 5% is still significant volume and I assume it benefits from all the other processes they do for the other phones. Unfortunately, it doesn't help that it's a cheaper phone and also a lower volume phone. Here's one of the more recent estimates from last year. https://www.notebookcheck.net/iPhone-13-Mini-sales-continue-to-disappoint-as-rumors-claim-the-iPhone-14-Mini-may-be-axed.593194.0.html https://www.notebookcheck.net/iPhone-13-Mini-sales-continue-...
- Tagbert 5y agoI suspect that the Mini name didn't do it any favors, especially starting in 202 when no one could see one in the stores. It gives the impression of something very small. I saw a lot of online commentators saying things like "I could never use something with a tiny screen" and "I'm afraid I would lose a tiny phone like that". In reality the Mini is within a few mm of the size of the iPhone X and the Mini screen is larger than the iPhone 6/8/SE. It didn't help that it was a lot more expensive than the SE that has just come out and not much cheaper than the regular iPhone. People expect prices to reflect size.
