- kasey_junk 5y agoIf that is the goal why would you use such wide cable routes? Something like chickenwire would seem to accomplish the same goal much better and its a widely available material.
- nine_k 5y agoWill it last log enough?
- LatteLazy 5y agoThat assumes you have time to stop at home depot and the foresight to plan what your building. I imagine many crews grab whatever they can find when they stop for the night or while refueling. And being away from your tank, in enemy territory (at night?) is usually minimised.
- merpkz 5y agowhy would a glass bottle bounce off a steel frame? imho it would shatter on impact and spill all over and underneath it? we need Mythbusters set on this one.
- littlestymaar 5y agoAlso, why would you protect the turret from a molotov cocktail and not the more vulnerable parts to this type of weapons: air admission & exhaust…
- arethuza 5y agoI think if I was in a tank I'd be most worried about a molotov cocktail going into an open hatch.
- littlestymaar 5y agoIt looks like it's not what motivated the dudes who made this one: https://nitter.net/oryxspioenkop/status/1503062532977795084#m https://nitter.net/oryxspioenkop/status/1503062532977795084#...
- gumby 5y agoIf they hit the bars, yes (similar to the slat armour discussed in the article). But if they hit the wire they’ll probably bounce off. And most of the surface area is wire.
- littlestymaar 5y agoMost cope cage have no wire and only bars: a few example: - https://postlmg.cc/9Drj9s6W https://postlmg.cc/9Drj9s6W - https://postlmg.cc/XrMMp6Xq https://postlmg.cc/XrMMp6Xq - https://postlmg.cc/V06wB9cN https://postlmg.cc/V06wB9cN - https://postlmg.cc/NyJm63jJ https://postlmg.cc/NyJm63jJ source: https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-docum...
