- simonblack 5y agoI haven't seen the videos, but apparently he was shot in a car at a checkpoint by Ukrainians who saw him taking photos from a car and thought he was a spy. So it was a case of unfortunate mistaken identity, by the looks of it. Seeing that the closest Russian forces were about two miles away at that time, they would have to be Olympic-quality marksmen to hit him with small-arms in the eye at that distance. His colleague was wounded in the same incident. Basically, an accident. But a good source of propaganda.
