Can you explain this in more detail? I'm pretty sure I misunderstand, but how will a phone upgrade affect the 3G-carrier-link?
- betaby 5y agoBecause there won't be 3G anymore in US/CAN/Scandinavia https://northernbi.com/3g-sunset-update-for-us-and-canadian-network-carriers/ https://northernbi.com/3g-sunset-update-for-us-and-canadian-...
- thatwasunusual 5y agoBut doesn't the iPhone 5 support 4G? Or am I still misunderstanding? :)

- kipchak 5y agoAt least on ATT in the US the iPhone 5 is not on the "supported" list, the 6 and up is. https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/pdf/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/pdf/Devices-Wor...
- thatwasunusual 5y agoAh. Thanks for the info!
- extra88 5y agoI don’t know about the 5 but the 5s supports 4G but is no longer supported by carriers because it doesn’t support Voice over LTE (VoLTE).
- pottertheotter 5y agoThe iPhone 5 uses 3G for voice and 4G for data.
