Hackers to Nvidia: Remove mining cap or we leak hardware data
- LatteLazy 5y agoI'm frustrated by graphics card prices. But ultimately that's life. If you buy hardware, the manufacturer shouldn't be putting artificial limits on it.

- BizarroLand 5y agoIt seems like you're responding to what OP said, but you're bringing in a completely different argument that derails the conversation. You make a good point, but the point you've made is the conversational equivalent of stabbing someone in a fist fight. A similar conversation was probably had in the 70's when the national speed limit was 55 mph. They buy a car that can do 120 but you can't legally drive it that fast. They say, "Cars are too expensive! If I pay these prices for one I want to drive 70 mph!" You say, "Hydrocarbon emissions are destroying the atmosphere" See? Don't get me wrong, I get you, but your response doesn't address the original statement. Your reply is either insulting or needlessly aggressive, and that isn't conducive to either side getting what they want or finding an acceptable compromise.
- slowhand09 5y agoINTEL used to clip leads on certain procesor chips to produce different models... I think 80386-SX vs 80386-DX. How is this different than software companies unlocking codepaths that provide extra functionality? Intellectual property can be packaged together, but doesn't mean you get everything unless you paid for everything. MS Office software cds include all their products. You pay for a license to use what you need. These greedy hacker thieves feel entitled to everything whether they pay for it or not. Would serve them right if NVDIA had a way to make their graphics boards short out and burn if found to be part of the hackers group.
- floppiplopp 5y agothose rabid crypto bros really are just full of criminal energy, aren't they?
- no_time 5y agoNice to see people not tolerating anti user BS. These people are doing the work of government bodies that are supposed to protect the consumer's interests against companies.
