- nivenkos 5y agoIt's public in many countries anyway - Norway and Sweden at least have public tax returns.
- froh 5y agoWhat do you mean public tax returns? Public to who?
- lordnacho 5y agoMeaning there's a website where I can look up the incomes of my Norwegian friends.
- the-dude 5y agoHow many?
- I_am_tiberius 5y ago> It's public in many countries anyway That doesn't mean it's good and it is not public in all countries. I don't consider this a valid argument.
- froh 5y agoNor does it mean it's bad. Also how do others know that some job ad matches the job that you are doing? https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=salary+transparency&btnG= https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=sala...
- nix23 5y ago+1 for Switzerland
- cbg0 5y agoIs this still true for Sweden with GDPR being a thing?
- HideousKojima 5y agoMy last job was for a local government in the US. All public employees in the entire state have their exact salaries (including before and after benefits) publicly available for anyone to see.
- protomyth 5y agoHappens like that on some federal grant program employees. It is a bit harder to get that information though. Many school districts also publish all salaries and that has come up a lot in politics in the US.
- protomyth 5y agoShould make for some great dinner conversation at family gatherings.
