Can We Tame Political Minds?
- raxxorrax 5y agoHow about giving an example. What is an example of such an irrational decision, supposedly enacted by parliaments in western democracies and assumed they make free choices without voter concern? An example of a policy mistake? I believe such instances are required to understand the goal here. > Speculative market minds are in fact vastly more informed and rational than the usual political minds. The market can also be a casino that is very often driven by emotion instead of rationality. It isn't always the case, but certainly on anything that gets attention. > strange problematic mix of confused, incoherent, and destructive pride, posturing, ideology, idealism, loyalty, and principles. Common mistake is to deny that influence. I believe this is a contradiction to the demand one should not trust ones own judgement. In my humble experience these behaviors are worst if denied or fought against. It is quite rational that doing so would elicit a response. These influences can be good and bad, but you cannot get one without the other. I think that the highest echelons of decision maker need to make compromises here is often more destructive than if they would not.
