- osrec 5y agoHaha, indeed. Many times they've just started a company, and that's it. No proper customers, no real revenue. Just a random, unproven lofty idea and a "brand". Very Theranos like, and similarly doomed to fail.
- skrtskrt 5y agoI personally know people who have made it that just work in a some midlevel (but publicly visible) role at a big tech unicorn, the company just got them placed there as part of their general PR strategy
- notfromhere 5y agoI've seen that too. The most egregious is when it's someone at a financial institution where the titles are pretty inflated. Being an AVP at Bank of America is not really a flex worthwhile of a 30 under 30 placement.
