AstraZeneca vaccine: Did politics and nationalism get in the way?
- anovikov 5y agoI don't see it as a problem at all. I took 2 doses of AZ myself - because it was the first vaccine i could get. So it was for hundreds of millions of people. It's not the best vaccine by far, but it is a lot better than nothing and most people could get it a lot sooner than any other one because it's a lot simpler and cheaper to produce and scale. It was great before any other ones appeared in sufficient quantities, it's still great for developing world because it's cheap and easy to store and transport. No one tries to claim otherwise. It's just that free/rich world now has abundance of much better vaccines, and lack of people willing to take them, so there is no need to compromise their will further by giving shots with any doubt of safety, which AZ is.
