The only roadblock is DDOS protection since Cloudflare has shown an equal propensity for censorship.
- jtc331 5y agoWhat about payments? And web hosting? And so many other things? It’s never been easier to start a site, yes, but it’s also never been more obvious that the providers that make it that easy aren’t interested in neutrality.
- smsm42 5y agoEvery major cloud hosting platform is censoring now (remember Parler?). Same with every major payment service. So it's not as easy as it seems.
- jimbob45 5y agoFor sure but he’s certainly got the cash to buy the equipment himself. We always say on here that cloud hosting only works until your business grows to a certain size. It seems like Rogan has hit that size.
- donny2018 5y agoI wonder how far technological independence can take you. There are still plenty of ways to cut you off from the infrastructure: your banks, your payment providers, your datacenter providers, etc. In theory, "they" can come after any company that your business depends on and that can be vulnerable to "cancel culture". It's now easy to make you so toxic nobody will want to take the risk of associating with you.
- Dylan16807 5y agoThat's a pretty easy roadblock. Cloudflare's removed two sites, I think?
