Squabble.me – Multiplayer Wordle Royale
- xdanger 5y agoAlready someone cheating? On reply, they write the same four words (reply, might, found, backs), then there is a pause (while inputing the results on a solver?) and then the right answer. Why bother?
- bryans 5y agoI have no doubt that people will use bots on this, but what you're describing doesn't actually sound like anyone is cheating. Because of the way the game scores, there's not really an advantage to taking your time, so it quickly becomes obvious that the best strategy is to use the same first 3-4 words on every game, and then pause to try and get the actual answer.
- jimmygrapes 5y agoI click "Guest" and it demands I sign up or login with SSO platforms I don't have accounts with. This is no good, absurd.

- finite_jest 5y agoIt has a "FIND GAME" option if you'd like to play with random people.
- zanzibar735 5y agoPretty fun! I think some game mechanics could be adjusted though - most games I've played ended up with no-one guessing the word, and the winner being the person who made the fewest guesses.

- onion2k 5y agoTurns out that playing Wordle against the clock makes it significantly less fun for me.
- charcircuit 5y agoI disagree. The time pressure makes it better because now you have to actually think of words quickly. It takes more skill.
- amalcon 5y agoI don't know that this is really a disagreement. You prefer a more skill-based experience; grandparent prefers a more relaxed experience. Both of these are reasonable preferences.
- Toutouxc 5y agoThe time pressure sucks if you're not a native (or at least a very good) english speaker. Sometimes I even think of a word that doesn't exist.

- knaik94 5y agoI personally like how social it is. It's fun to play while video chatting. From what I understand about the health mechanic, it's based on the speed of the other people playing as well.
- indigodaddy 5y agoHaven’t played it yet, but I was thinking the same thing while I was watching the developer play it when it was about completed at the end of his twitch stream.. Seems super stressful to play this so fast..

- smashah 5y agoHi, Can you fix the colors please? I have colour deficiency (red/green) and the yellow/green look almost identical to me. The original worlde colours work very well.

- bspammer 5y agoI think if someone gets the word right, everyone else loses HP. It is a battle royale after all.

- dgellow 5y agoFemme is from French, it means “woman”. I believe it is used in English to say “a very feminine woman”.

- TonyTrapp 5y agoCompared to a couple of hours ago, most games that I try to join have some guest idling around without typing the word "ready". Seems like those should be kicked out if they don't do so within 20 seconds or so? Otherwise the games never seem to start.
- dash2 5y agoWhoops, there goes my day. If there'd been team Wordle when I was a kid I would have been a lot more sporty.
- lekevicius 5y agoFor a non-native speaker, this is quite stressful. I imagine my Wordle games take longer than for English-native speakers, but it's still very enjoyable. This... I won't try again.
- arijun 5y agoPretty irritating that it doesn't tell you the word after the game is over.
- anshumankmr 5y agoAre there Wordle speedrunners already? Cause some folks just absolutely demolished me in all the games I joined as I was always last. I was feeling good about myself after building a three day streak of winning while playing solo.
- boothby 5y agoI don't know about everybody else, but I computed a decision tree, and I "solve wordle" by entering guesses and scanning down the tree to find how to respond to hints. If I was going to compete (and I won't, because it would feel unsporting) then I'd write a script that would scan the tree for me.
- fouc 5y agoCompeting shouldn't mean writing a script though. To me competing implies doing it with sportsmanship.
- boothby 5y agoYes, that is what I said. You'll find that the internet is full of people who don't care what you think, and fairness is either enforced (cat and mouse) or nonexistent (top-tier play is bots).
- addandsubtract 5y agoYou can watch the replay of others on the site. I've been using 2 words to get all the vowels down, but apparently there's a french word that gets 4/5 vowels in the first word. Then you just narrow down more letters with each guess and put them all together in the last 2 tries. At least that has been my strategy.

- specialist 5y agoOh thank god. Is there a multi-player cooperative version? I'll find out soon enough. If not: please add, I'll pay you. (I don't currently have the bandwidth to make my own. Sorry.) -- I've been searching hi & low for online activities to do with my mom. Turn-based games like Words with Friends are now beyond her kin. Especially all that freemium and social and achievement crap. Holy shit, I just want to play scrabble with my mom. But it has to be real-time, so I can keep talking to her, nudges, get her unstuck. Mom is also really into Wheel of Fortune. Family tradition. We used to sit around, competitive, talking trash. I've tried to find Watch Party versions of any game show. Nadda. Such a missed business opportunity. Especially with all additional social isolation.
- fouc 5y agoGreat game! Only issue - it doesn't seem to adjust the size to keep the keyboard visible (1440x900 here), I was forced to hit cmd - a few times to make everything visible.

- jdprgm 5y agoThis is the best wordle variation i've seen yet! Would love to see stats added for registered accounts. Win rate, word solve time, knock-outs, etc.
- ddoubleU 5y agoThe GUEST naming is rather weird, which GUEST is me? One idea would be to use YOU and random generated names for the other guests.
